IMPERIAL — Police here arrested a 27-year-old man Tuesday night after he was found to be carrying 28 grams of methamphetamine.

Troy Earl Prater was arrested by police who spotted him coming out of a house under surveillance by police. The officer who spotted Prater recognized him and knew there was a warrant for Prater's arrest.

Prater left the house and was later pulled over by an officer near the intersection of Highway 86 and Neckel Road. The methamphetamine was found in Prater's vehicle.

The house was under surveillance because police had received complaints by neighbors about suspected illegal drug activity there, said Acuña. The address was not released by police, but Acuña said Prater does not live there.

Prater remained in county jail this morning with bail set at $15,000 for his warrant and $25,000 for possession of narcotics, a jail spokeswoman said.
