LOLA ALEXANDER

July 4, 1910 — Jan. 10, 2004

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Brawley for Lola Alexander, 93, of Brawley, who died Saturday in Imperial Oasis in Brawley.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the mortuary. Dave Conrad will officiate.

Burial will be private.

Mrs. Alexander was born July 4, 1910, in Tuxedo, Texas. She was the youngest of five children born to Oscar and Lulu Smith.

She came with her parents, two sisters and one brother to the Imperial Valley in 1923.

Mrs. Alexander attended Brawley Union High School.

She married Clisto Alexander in Yuma on Sept. 5, 1929. They resided in Brawley until 1974.

Mrs. Alexander returned to Brawley in 1993 to be with her daughter, Joan Dahm.

According to family, she was an avid gardener and oil painter who enjoyed reading. She was member of the Brawley Women's Club and the First United Methodist Church in Brawley.

Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband, Clisto Alexander, in 1984.

Survivors include her daughters, Joan Dahm of Brawley and Jane De Shazo of San Diego; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Dale Fargo of Rancho Murrieta; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
