The Sacred Heart Parish in Brawley has a new priest. The Rev. Reynaldo Roque stepped in at the parish when Father Bernardo Ranoa went on vacation, and was later assigned to the Brawley parish when Ranoa was reassigned to the San Diego area.

Roque was born and raised in the Philippines. He attended the Saint Francis Xavier College and Seminary and then attended University of Santo Tomas.

He was ordained in 1986 at his home parish in Davao, where he grew up. He spent the next 11 years serving in the priesthood before going to Rome to study social communications at the University of Saint Croce.
