SALTON CITY — An unidentified U.S. citizen faces possible charges in connection with the discovery of more than $7.3 million worth of cocaine over the weekend at the Highway 86 checkpoint, the U.S. Border Patrol reported.
A trained dog alerted Border Patrol agents Sunday to the Chevrolet truck the man was driving in which 82 sealed packages of the illegal narcotic were found. The drugs weighed about 230 pounds and were hidden in the vehicle’s tires, a press statement read.
