“We are active,” said Evelyn McGee, vice president of the club. “We’re trying to do things to make everything better.”

Having a fashion show gets the public interested so they come out and see who the senior citizen is, she said. There are a lot of active seniors in this community.

Those who participated, wearing their formal, casual and active wear said they were happy to help.

Mary Hunter has been modeling as a breast cancer survivor for 15 years, so when she was asked to come out she decided to participate.

“I love making people laugh and having fun,” she said.

Robie Carter also donned her own style for the show. She was asked by McGee, and of course she agreed, she said.

“I love my friends,” she said. “These are not only my friends, but also my sisters in Christ.”

Both young and old modeled different styles at the Saturday afternoon show. Porcha McGee was one of the younger women to model.

“I always wanted to be a model, so today is a good day modeling,” she said.
