CALEXICO: Computers stolen

A subject wearing dark clothing and blue jeans took two computers from Wal-Mart on Wednesday morning with the help of a female.

The incident took place around 5 a.m., according to El Centro police call logs, and the subjects took off in a black Honda Accord.

The female, who was driving the car, was red-haired and the vehicle was last seen going northbound on Highway 111.



EL CENTRO: Loaded shotgun missing

A black, loaded Charles Daly shotgun was reported missing from a residence near the 1500 block of Wensley Avenue on Tuesday.

The shotgun was stolen from the reporting party’s closet sometime between April and the time of the report, according to El Centro police call logs.



$8,700 in jewelry stolen

Various jewelry items worth approximately $8,700 were reported missing from a residence near the 700 block of Pico Avenue.

The incident was reported Tuesday to El Centro police but the incident is thought to have taken place late last month, according to the logs.

Some of the items stolen were a gold bracelet and a ring with four diamonds, the logs read.



Credit card stolen

More than $7,000 in unauthorized charges were allegedly made with a stolen credit card of a resident whose card was taken from a mailbox near the 1000 block of South Second Street.

The incident was reported to El Centro police Tuesday, according to the logs, however the charges are thought to have taken place between May and July.

No suspect information was available, the logs read.



IMPERIAL : Car rolls, driver trapped

A female driver was trapped in a vehicle that caught fire after a rollover accident on Interstate 8 and Drew Road on Tuesday.

The incident took place around 4 p.m., said Imperial County Firefighter Hector Garcia.

The fire was “just a small (engine) compartment fire,” said Garcia. However, the female sustained moderate injuries, he said, and after being extricated from the vehicle she was flown for treatment in a REACH helicopter ambulance.

Aside from the vehicle no other property was damaged, said Garcia, who was unaware where the injured woman was taken.



Female ejected after vehicle rollover

A female was found about 50 feet away from her vehicle after a rollover accident near Edgar Road west of Forrester Road on Tuesday.

The incident took place around 7:30 p.m., Garcia said.

By the time firefighters reached the scene a Gold Cross Ambulance was already treating the female driver who sustained moderate injuries, Garcia said.

She was flown out for treatment by REACH helicopter ambulance, he said.



DESERT SHORES: Pelicans being hunted

At least three males riding a white Toyota Tacoma were seen shooting endangered pelicans with bows and arrows near Acapulco Lane on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident was reported around 3:30 p.m., according to Imperial County Sheriff’s Office call logs.

The Department of Fish and Game responded but was unable to locate any of the suspect, the logs show.
