Imperial Valley Venom strike again, win back-to-back titles in USSSA 2012 Arizona vs. So Cal Border Madness Fastpitch Tournament

YUMA — The Imperial Valley Venom 14-and-under softball team won the USSSA 2012 Arizona vs. So Cal Border Madness Fastpitch Tournament in its respective division earlier this month.

Venom beat the Arizona Roadrunners, 6-3, in the championship for the back-to-back title.

Venom went 7-0 in the tournament, scoring 45 runs and allowing only six.

Kasey Cazares faced 54 batters and struck out 44. Michelle Corral also had 10 strikeouts.

On Nov. 3, Venom beat the Coyotes, 3-0, with an in-the-park home run by Dani Jimenez. Venom then beat the Desert Prospects, 7-0, and Tucson Venom, 11-1.

The following day, Venom beat Illusion, 4-0, Fierce 99, 5-0, and the Roadrunners in the championship.
