CALEXICO: Woman hit by truck, hospitalized

A woman was hit by a pickup and airlifted out to a hospital for treatment Wednesday morning, according to a Calexico Fire Department official.

The 22-year-old woman was walking northbound on Rockwood Avenue, crossing Robert Kennedy Street, when a car turned onto Robert Kennedy Street and struck her shortly after 7 a.m.

The man driving the car stopped, and Calexico Fire Department personnel treated her before REACH air ambulance transported her to University of California San Diego Medical Center.
