Hundreds of local bicyclists will soon be riding the streets of El Centro during the Le Tour De Manure on Saturday morning.
Organized by the city, the annual bicycling event will include three routes ranging from 15-, 25- and 50-mile distances, explained city Special Event Coordinator Martha Mier.
“It’s a lot of riders and a lot of fun,” Mier said.
All the fun will begin Saturday with registrations at 7 a.m., and the event scheduled for 8 a.m. with early registration welcomed, Mier said.
“The entrance fees for adults are $30 and $10 for juniors, with all the proceeds benefiting the Imperial Valley Special Olympics,” Mier said.
Having raised more than $2,000 in previous years, Mier hopes that more can be raised to help support the group’s uniforms, equipment and traveling expenses.
