A parolee with a warrant for armed robbery out of Riverside County faces various charges after allegedly leading El Centro police on a chase in a stolen car, authorities said Tuesday. Juan Ibarra, a 31-year-old resident of the Los Angeles County city of Huntington Park, caught the eye of an El Centro police officer after he allegedly failed to properly turn into the parking lot of the 7-Eleven convenience store at Eighth Street and Adams Avenue, said El Centro Police Cmdr. Paul Longoria.

Three Holtville men face multiple charges related to car theft that resulted Tuesday in a high-speed chase through a portion of Fourth Street in El Centro, a sergeant said Wednesday. The suspects, identified as Adan Javalera, 29 ? who police suspect was driving one of two stolen vehicles ? Edward Estrada, 21, and Alex Padilla, 28, were all taken into custody following a foot pursuit on Woodward Avenue. It was in that area where a Toyota Corolla that Javalera allegedly drove was abandoned following the car chase.

A 22-year-old man was arrested early Sunday following a car chase that took El Centro police through city streets. Ronald Lee Fitzpatrick, who had two unspecified warrants from Imperial County, was arrested on felony evading and other charges after a pursuit intervention maneuver was used to stop his car, said El Centro Police Sgt. Mike Crankshaw. An officer on patrol spotted Fitzpatrick driving without headlights on and signaled him to pull over. Fitzpatrick, the sergeant said, allegedly tried evading the police, who used the maneuver to get him to stop near Fourth and Main streets.

CALEXICO ? Two local residents were arrested Monday on suspicion of trying to kill a man at the intersection of Rivera Avenue and Seventh Street following a car chase, a detective said Tuesday. The unidentified victim escaped injury during the 9:30 p.m. shooting that allegedly involved Osbaldo Verduzco and Carlos Cortez, said Calexico Police Detective Mario Salinas. Both suspects are 19. The victim?s 9-year-old nephew traveled with him but was not harmed. Monday?s shooting appears to be connected with Friday?

Officer with a good eye nabs 2 After a six-mile car chase through west Imperial and a foot pursuit, Imperial police arrested a former Los Angeles man who had been driving with a suspended license. Alex Garzona, 28, who recently moved back to Imperial, was scheduled to be booked into jail this morning. At 1:30 a.m., Officer John Espinoza allegedly saw Garzona blow through a stop sign and he tried to stop him. Garzona punched the accelerator, leading Espinoza on a six-mile chase that snaked north on La Brucherie, west on Lee Road and into the Ironwood Estates subdivision.

A 27-year-old Holtville man wanted in connection with a drug-related warrant was arrested Sunday after leading El Centro police officers on a vehicle chase that reportedly reached speeds of 100 mph. Salvador Ornelas was arrested for suspicion of evading an officer, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended driver's license, said El Centro police Sgt. Teresa Quinn. Ornelas also was arrested in connection with a warrant for possession of a controlled substance, added Quinn. A call of two individuals arguing in an alley in the 700 block of Lenrey Avenue was received at 11:30 a.m., said Quinn.

A 13-year-old girl led El Centro police on a four-mile chase through the city late Friday and early Saturday that ended with the girl being taken into custody for evading officers and reckless driving. The girl's name was not released because she is a juvenile. The case started shortly before midnight Friday when police received a call that a reckless driver had moments earlier nearly struck another motorist. Officers were dispatched and spotted the vehicle, a van, in the 900 block of North Sixth Street.

Two 16-year-old Southwest High School students, who reportedly have been reprimanded for fighting in the past, were involved in a car chase in El Centro on Wednesday. While no one was arrested, El Centro police were called about the chase on South 19th Street and Driftwood Avenue at 1:24 p.m. after complaints about the chase were phoned into the Police Department. The two students, one driving a van and the other a pickup, were driving recklessly while yelling at each other, an El Centro police official said this morning.

In a wild countywide chase that took law enforcement from Calexico to west of Imperial, two armed men alleged to have committed a carjacking in Brawley and a robbery of a convenience store in El Centro early this morning were arrested near here. Driver Johnny Guebien Torres, 19, and his passenger, Frank Salazar, 18, both of Brawley, were arrested on suspicion of carjacking, armed robbery and felony evasion of a peace officer, said Calexico police Lt. Jim Neujahr.

A 24-year-old man was arrested after he led El Centro police officers on a five-minute car chase early this morning. Daniel Rojo of El Centro was arrested on suspicion of driving without a license and driving under the influence of alcohol, said El Centro police Sgt. Theresa Quinn. Rojo's vehicle was seen parked near the intersection of Heil Court and Second Street by El Centro police Officer Mark Segal about 3:20 a.m., said Quinn. The officer wrote a vehicle code violation for the parked vehicle, which drove away as he walked toward it to place the ticket on its windshield.
