Imperial Valley College women's basketball player Sandra Ramos was named Pacific Coast Conference Most Valuable Player by the PCC coaches Saturday. IVC's Jello Moore and LaToya Jackson were selected to the all-conference team.

SAN DIEGO ? The Imperial Valley College men?s basketball team wanted sole possession of the Pacific Coast Conference title badly. Mission accomplished. The Arabs clobbered Miramar College 102-54 here Wednesday to clinch the title and secure a spot in the Southern California Men?s Junior College Basketball Regional Playoffs. IVC will know its postseason opponent Monday. The Arabs (23-7, 13-2 PCC) still have one game left ? at Cuyamaca College in El Cajon at 7 p.m. Saturday.

VICTORVILLE ? The Imperial Valley College women's basketball team ripped Victor Valley 74-44 here Friday. LaToya Jackson led with 23 points, seven assists and five steals. Sandra Ramos had 17 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists and nine steals while Marquita Travis added 12 points. The Arabs will return to action at 2 today against Cerro Coso College in Ridgecrest.

PALM DESERT ? The Imperial Valley College men's basketball team lost its opening game of the College of the Desert tournament here Friday, falling 79-68 to Mount San Jacinto. IVC will next host Grossmont College at 7 p.m. Saturday.

SAN DIEGO ? The Pacific Coast Conference lifted its three-year probation on the Imperial Valley College men's basketball team during a meeting here Tuesday. The Arabs served two years of a three-year probation. They will now be able to qualify for the playoffs and compete for the PCC title.

MEN'S BASKETBALL The Imperial Valley College men's basketball team fell to San Diego Mesa College, 69-68, with a last-second 3-pointer in their Pacific Coast Athletic Conference game Wednesday at IVC.  WRESTLING The Brawley Union High wrestling team beat Central Union High, 44-27, in an Imperial Valley League duel Wednesday in Brawley.

RIVERSIDE ? The Imperial Valley College men's basketball team lost to Mount San Jacinto College 87-86 in its first game of the Riverside College tournament here Wednesday. The Arabs will play again today in the tournament, with their opponent to be announced. In Wednesday's game, D.J. Brown scored 33 points for IVC and Brandon Warner and Ian McKeathan scored 13 points each. The Arabs are 6-3.

EL CAJON ? LaToya Jackson and Jello Moore each scored 18 points Wednesday to lead the Imperial Valley College women's basketball team to a 76-43 win over host Grossmont College. Moore also had 22 rebounds while Jackson also had six assists and two steals. Sandra Ramos added 17 points, eight boards, five assists and five steals. The Arabs (21-7 overall) host Southwestern College at 7 p.m. Friday.
